Herons and darters

Not a lot to report today. Watermead is in its late summer siesta. I've returned once or twice to try and get a better picture of the Little Egret but it's just not there at the times of day I visit. Apparently early in the morning is the best time. What is there during the mid afternoon are several Grey Herons (Ardea cinerea). I'm not sure what they are doing but they look bored.
I did spot this Common Darter (Sympetrum striolatum) buzzing around the blackberry plants. I didn't have the right camera with me so this is the best shot I could get.
